What are Quakers?

.
A small religious group which started in the 17th century. Strongly influenced by Christian Protestant and Puritan ideals they have no creed, no symbols and no priests. They are not evangelical but are known for their practical work particularly in the fields of peace and social service. They are sometimes known as "The Religious Society of Friends" and frequently refer to each other as Friends. For more information try the pages published by Britain Yearly Meeting.
